The setting sun illuminates the round barrows on top of Handley Hill (grid ref SU013162) which could be grouped with those further SW down the hillslope known as Wyke Down. The high location of this barrow makes it particularly prominent when viewed from the south or west. The long grass and bushes in the foreground are growing on the agger (raised bank) of the Roman road known as the Ackling Dyke. |
