|Description ||This large boulder of Necomian sandstone has quite likely been transported from Norway by a glaciar during the last ice age.|
The picture is only part of it, which continues under the hedge to the right to the edge of the ditch. It is very worn, gritty and mossy - its
certainly been there a long while.
The dimensions are at least [roughly] 13 x 5 x 5 foot in size, so could actually weigh in at around 20/25 tons. It sits in a marl pit on the edge of a field. I had to clear an accrued growth of vegetation away to expose the surace of the stone, before resting as pictured.
