Description Early morning with fog and frost.
Landscape photographs don't always have to be taken in the horizontal "landscape" format. You don't always have to have the sun behind you - shooting into the light can be very effective. You don't have to always wait for blue skies and a sunny day. You don't have to leave your camera at home during the winter months. Get out there and capture the fleeting beauty of the winter landscape, but remember to slightly over expose if you want your snow to be white and not grey!

Beautiful image! Your right about the format. Your choice for a vertical composition is right on. I definitely agree on the wintertime shooting as well. I'm living in Utah right now, and it is a barren wasteland without a beautiful snow fall. Nothing's quite as beautiful as a light coating of snow in the early morning hours. Of course I'm from Alberta, Canada...what do you expect.

I just saw some of your other images of this Hatfield Forest of yours, and I'm extremely impressed by the atmosphere you've captured so perfectly. You should probably change your favorite site to Hatfield Forest.?.
