Description After a very pleasant afternoon walking on the moors the other day, I dropped down into the valley as dark was falling. The footpath home ran through the churchyard, and I couldn't resist a few pictures of the graveyard at night. Remembering that there are an estimated 40,000 bodies under the ground here, I begun to ponder if any souls were still hanging around... The sudden noises in the trees behind me was my cue for a less-than-dignified dash for the Main Street!

Lovely! Its still there isn't it - the spooky prickly feeling between the shoulder blades when you walk through a graveyard at night. Ever spent the night in a forest? All of our palaeolithic instincts for self preservation rise quickly to the surface and any small sound is a wild boar, an aurochs or a ghost.

As a kid, I always thought that I'd grow out of the ability to be spooked by graveyards and the like. I'm 36 and it shows no signs of abating! Maybe I've just got an over-active imagination? Or maybe I'm just a big wuss? :-D
