| Posted Comments: Missie (2006-01-11) | Hi, Jim; this is a beautiful website. I take it that Chun Castle well isn't a holy well - is there water still in it?I noticed a picture of Vernditch Chase - do you know if the ghost legend ( concerns an old axe murder ) is still alive, so to speak? Thanks for reading this. | JimChampion (2006-01-11) | I don't think that the well has any 'holy' significance, but I'm not an expert on these things. Have a look at the Chun Castle Well page (click on the yellow link above left), leave a question there - someone will know. As for Vernditch chase, it was a barrow that I briefly visited whilst looking at other earthworks near Pentridge. Again, I'm not an expert on ghost stories, sorry I can't help! |
