(2005-08-29) | Nice one, Ocifant. Thanks for this. If you click on the pop up Megalithic Map (first orange icon on the main site page - note for newcomers) you will see that this stone is out on its own and not in line with those of Rudge's Puddingstone Trail. However, that doesn't mean that it was not used as a waymark to mark a trail, crossroads or ford. Then again, its proximity to the church is significant to Littlestone's thread of ancient stones under or near churches on t'otherside. Intriguing - as all good mysteries are, because they have not yet been solved or proved. |
