I can't believe this photo! When I was last there - there were trees closely surrounding the stones. Massive loss of atmosphere!

A lot of people I talked to thought that all the trees should be removed,not my opinion I hasten to add.

But why? Oh I do hate people who have to tidy things up. Are the "tree removers" pagans? Have they never hard of sacred groves?

I think they would like it to look like something, they have in their minds,of how it looked in far off times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi - new here and a warden at the Rollrights and pagan to boot. The only thing that was removed to widen the access to the original entrance point was a scratty hedgerow. No trees were harmed and this was to try to cut down the erosion on the footpath that has been used for a long time. One or two trees have been gut back, but this is just to make the access easier for disabled to get to the path to the Whispering Knights. If you look at the aspect, anyone who has visited the stones will know this is facing toward the south east and there were no trees on that particular side - be assured all the other trees are still intact
