Description June 2005. Looking across to Flower's barrow cliff fort from Mupe bay. A patch of sunlight is illuminating the hill and the outline of the ramparts can be made out against the sky. The right hand side of the fort is disappearing into the sea! We had walked far enough to get to this point, keeping on going to Flower's barrow was out of the question. Not an easy site to access!

Hi Jim; just back from 5 days camping in Shropshire. The easy way to access will be from Whiteway Hill car park, walk west along the Range Walks. Alternatively, walk up from Tyneham - one 'eck of a hill to walk up though! I've had Flowers Barrow on my wish list for quite some time - its situation gives it a very limited future. I'm hoping to get up there over the summer sometime.

It'd be a long walk from Lulworth Cove! We'd got to this point (Mupe Bay) via Lulworth cove and the fossil forest. To go on to Flower's Barrow would involve climbing the very steep cliff path up the east end of Bindon Hill, descending then ascending again. Its a very dramatic coastline here, and I see what you mean about the hillfort's literally falling into the sea.
