(2005-06-04) | Well spotted! We have lots of photos of this site but no one seems to have noticed the fossils before (other than the big one by the entrance) Makes me wonder if the stones were specially selected because they carried fossils - perhaps they were seen as petrified worms or serpents | davidmilner
(2005-06-04) | The big one is something though!!!...and something I'd seen on these pages....A friend and I drove down on a whim and saw last Sundays dawn arrive from here, spent a long while in the barrow and these started to appear as our eyes got used to the light....this is a becoming one of my favourite sites,...wonderfully positioned and access good.......and as you can see worth a bit of time exploring the walls...... |
