Description The Redhorn gate is to the right of Caradhras (AKA Fan Brycheiniog).
Tolkein didn't need to go to New Zealand for his inspiration, it was there in front of him.

Tolkien didn't go to New Zealand for inspiration - Peter Jackson did!

Anyone know the correct spelling for Carhadras, it's wrong apparently?

Well according to Tolkien it's "Caradhras" and he should know.

Thanks Thor, I took the spelling from memory and thought it was wrong. I should have put this in originally, this is a view of FanB from Mynydd Bach Trecastle stone circles.
