Entrance to Purkin Kuk iron Age Hillfort. The area was settled in the first millenium BCE, the original megalithic walls were built about 400 BCE by the indigenous Dalmatian Illyrians. The people later moved into Pharos/Stari Grad when Greeks settled the area, but the Hillfort was kept as an obervation tower until the middle ages. The Middle ages flimsy material covers about half the site. |
