Looking down into the Meon valley from the east-facing spur of Beacon Hill. In the foreground is the saucer barrow, around 15m in diameter and surrounded by a 2.5m ditch and 5m wide outer bank. On the horizon towards the right is Old Winchester Hill which has its own round barrow cemetery. |
