|Description ||War chariot and mounted horseman. The horse was introduced into North Africa by the invading Hyksos about 1550 BC. This painting is thought to date fron 1000 BC and depicts the mysterious "Sea People" who allied themselves with the Libyans. In the 5th century BC, Herodotus records that the people of the Sahara included a tribe known as the Atlantes - now isn't that a name to stir the imagination! Wonder why none of the Atlantis books have picked up on that - Sea People - Atlantes - Atlantis?
