Contact them for permission to reproduce it. |  | | Description | Hunedbed Germany #908 - Helmichsteine - located in my hometown Wallenhorst (State of Lower Saxony) near Osnabrueck. This megalithic grave is called Gevasteine, too. Geva was the wife of Duke Widukind, a famous saxon leader who fighted bloody battles against Emperor Carl the Great (Francs) around 780 A.D. (compare with hunebed Germany #909 Karlsteine) Geva was a sister of King Harold I. of Haithabu, a Viking Kingdom, located in todays State of Schleswig-Holstein near the Danish border. Legend says, that Geva was burried under this stones. |

(2008-01-17) | Oh, what a nice view nowadays! I remember my somewhat disappointing visit in 1989 where it was completly overgrown!
