Situated on the north side of Eagle Hill, in an area commanding spectacular views over the west end of the Beara Peninsula, Kilmackowen is a fine example of a wedge-tomb. It is incorporated into a pre-bog field wall and consists of a small chamber (1.5m long and c0.8m wide) which increases in height from east to west, at which end it is open. |
