|Description ||Cairnderry is a three chambered round cairn of Bargrennan type, situated about 100 metres along a forestry track off the A714 at 155 metres above sea level. The cairn is built on a low rise on ground sloping down to the River Cree to the southwest. This is a view looking north into the south chamber with its probable fallen capstone. The northwest and northeast chambers are behind. This photograph was taken before the excavations of 2002-4. |
