|Description ||Ellers Wood, Dob Park, North Yorkshire - SE1905651004
A medium sized roof shaped rock. Situated on main path before descent to the river Washburn, approx 7m W of brook, 26m SE of nmr28079/cup619 & 44m E of 28078/cup618. The carving consists of 2 small cups with & an arced groove running 15cm under the cups to the N. Theres possibly a similar groove above & to the SE. A 3rd deeper cup running in line with the 2 cups appears to be natural.
This carving is not referenced in ‘Prehistoric Rock Art of The West Riding’ & is not listed as a scheduled monument with North Yorks County Council.
|Unlikely to be natural marks, but probably not belonging to prehistoric times either.|
