The two Havelteberg monuments are a long way west from the string of hunebedden between Emmen and Assen. But they're worth a detour!
D54 and D53 are within 200ms of each other in sandy heathland.

Assuming this was once covered by a mound, then what stopped all the sandy soil just falling in between the gaps ? the stones are so far apart, but theres no signs of smaller stones filling the gaps. And how far did the big stones have to come from ? I feel a visit to this region comng on ! |
