Looking towards Robin Hoods stride in Derbyshire.
My second visit here and it still feels a magical place. We found several other large stones in and around the walls of the surrounding fields. It seems likely that these are from the original circle. But how and why were they moved and was the original circle disturbed or rebuilt into the present 4 stone square circle. |

(2005-04-26) | This is a lovely photo Nicola. I was there just over a week ago, so can appreciate it better now. It was a popular venue that day! The snow makes the stones stand out more clearly against the darker field background, doesn't it? Beautiful sky, too! |
