Difficult to date. | nicoladidsbury (2005-08-13) | These old crosses are built into the fabric of the surviving norman wall of the church which perhaps indicates that they are pre-norman (unless the church has been restored at anytime)
St Kentigern travelled through this part of Cumbria, on his way between Crossthwaite (Near Keswick) and Caldbeck, and some people seem to think that un-dedicated churches such as Old Ireby, may have been founded by St Kentigern. |
