Description Sunlight illuminates the chamber on a January afternoon; the shelf on the right of the passage is clearly visible.

A beautiful atmospheric picture. First time I've ever seen the sun on Anglesey!

Very well exposed - such contrasting light is incredibly difficult to balance. Of course the sun shines in Anglesey! When days of rain clouds obscure Yr Wyddfa and drenching rain makes climbing in Snowdonia impossible - we always crossed to the isle that the Angles made thier own and basked in endless sunshine.

Last time I was on Ynys Mon I had good weather for two whole days, except for the late afternoon drive from Penmon Priory to Bryn Celli Ddu. After putting my wellies and showerproof on, the rain dried up, and my walk to Bryn Celli Ddu was a dry but cloudy one. I love this island and can't wait to go back: it has a very special atmosphere. Barclodiad y Gawres is a nice place to go in the sunshine (and it's been sunny there for me on two occasions!)
