The remains of a Chambered Cairn on a private croft to the North of Breasclete. The four largest stones are about 1 meter or more in height, and are set in an arc about 5 meters across. Other small stones are testament to the quarrying of the Cairn and later destruction of what must have been an imposing tomb located on its small hill.
The name translates as 'Hillock of the Prince', which suggests to me a vestige of memory regarding it's status in the area. All in all, this little ruin is just another of the ingredients which enriches any trip to the area around Callanish.
The photo was taken just before sunset in the days leading up to the Autumn Equinox 2004, looking towards the West).
(The croft is private land, and permission must be obtained from the crofter, if a close visit is intended)
