|Description ||The outlier, looking north east to Stapeley Hill, the source for the stones.|
There are two modern cairns on each high point of the the hill; a depleted bronze age cairn sits in the middle saddle between the summits, which would once have been a very obvious feature from Mitchell's Fold.
|I wonder if the summer solstice sun rose up over that bronze age cairn, when viewed from here, or from Mitchell's Fold?|
|There are a number of folk who gather there for summer solstice - there were around 30 last Tuesday! I am intending being there for the summer solstice next year, so with any luck, I'll be able to give an informed response, and a photo!|
