Contact them for permission to reproduce it. | | | Description | Lato was a city founded by the Dorian invaders from the mainland around the 8th Century BCE, after the Minoan era. It was built on a defensible mountain pass just south West of Agios Nikolaos. Around the 3 Century BCE, when Crete became more peaceful, it was abandoned when everyone moved to Kamara, the Ancient name for Agios Nikolaos. The fenced in area is the large water cistern.
