| Posted Comments: AngieLake (2004-11-24) | These are amazing, but they all look so NEW! Have they been restored recently, and is Kilpeck the most decorated church you've ever seen? The best one I have ever visited was Rosslyn Chapel near Edinburgh. | Thorgrim (2004-11-24) | Yes - Kilpeck is the most decorated church that I know of - the whole building is covered in writhing creatures and battling warriors. The famous "sheela" is the least of them, but the most famous. The unknown artist/sculptor also did some fantastic work at nearby Eardisley (my poor attempt at a copy in wood can be seen in our Art Gallery) |
