The chamber and the medieval castle face each other across the bay. Down below there are the wall of an ancient building with gnarled trees growing through them. It reminded me of the stone tomb at Manorbier, a much better preserved site but again across the bay from a medieval castle; the later architects respecting perhaps the siting of the earlier structure but still laying their claim to the site. |
