Elaborately carved entrance curbstone at Newgrange. Note the spiral motif simlar to that found in Malta or Stone of Westray in the Orkney Islands.

Please also note so called roofbox above entrance which permits the entra of light during the winter solstice.

Heritage have a lottery for solstice attendance by the general public.
