Contact them for permission to reproduce it. | | | Description | This stone was found in a rain-eroded gulley in Charity Lane, Forest Chapel, in April 2004. Buxton and Macclesfield museums have identified it as a probable hand axe or hammer dating to the Bronze Age. Archaeologists at Mellor dig in September confirmed it to have been artificially worked. This greenish stone is not native to the Cheshire-Derbyshire moorlands. Manchester Victoria Museum are inconclusive but think it may be a 'rough out'. |
