Contact them for permission to reproduce it. | | | Description | I had a strong feeling that these distant mountains (hills?!) with their regularly-shaped twin humps (breasts of Mother Earth?) played a significant part in the circle's ritual alignment. Many other megalithic monuments seem to be similarly positioned. The incline of the 'Moon Stone' in the foreground (nicknamed after JackME's observations - see my other postings), seemed to invite me to lean back against it, and look in that direction. (Though I was not looking straight ahead). According to my compass reading, the dip between the hills was at 205/206 degs at that point. Maybe this coincides with some rising or setting, though I imagine it would be much too short for Winter Solstice sunset? You will also note from this angle, how the two stones on the opposite side of the circle align with each hill, framing the dip. (But then, I was to the right of the original position as I took this photo.) To the right of those stones is another 'moon stone'-shaped stone. |
