This was a very special place - one of those where (as someone once almost described it?) the veil between this world/time and another seems very thin!
I think my sedentary 5ft marker (aka Mrs PAB!) could have watched and wondered all day, as generations before us will have done.
On a more prosaic note: as this image shows, the spread of stone and scree around the summit was very extensive. If even a small proportion had once been used on the cairn, it would have been monumental. |
