Contact them for permission to reproduce it. | | | Description | The top of the 'Gorsedd' - as named by Julian Cope in his book, The Modern Antiquarian. He believes that the narrow passage into the tomb of Capel Garmon aligns with the large boulder (part of which is seen right here) on this hillock. After dowsing, I believe there was once a circle of stones on this 'platform', virtually filling the area of this picture. (It may have been a building. Whatever, it had a commanding position overlooking the ceremonial area of the tomb.) The three sharp stones in the other photo I've posted are visible centre left. Stumps of felled trees can also be seen. I'd guess this is looking NNW. |
