Some archaeos think this rare type of cairn might have been a windbreak for livestock! As you can imagine, it hasn’t been widely accepted because a number have contained human remains. |

Stock pens and windbreaks - maybe them there cursus thingies were drove roads for them good ol' farmin' boys back then. | rich32 (2005-12-21) | Dave, I think theres 3 tri-radials around Lordenhaw & they’re different sizes. This particular one will be about 7m N-S, a much larger one is roughly 30 meters west.
Peter, not sure where the evidence for it is, it sounds like something somebody just plucked out of the air!
