The field in the foreground is the site of the earthworks associated with the north-eastern terminal of the Pentridge Cursus (the north-eastern part of the Dorset Cursus). The cursus earthworks are long gone, only surviving as crop marks, but this extended long barrow survivies, pointing towards the site of the terminal. |
