|Description ||Further to the forum discussion regarding rock art (as found at Forteviot), this is another example of the looping movement found towards the final stages of this ritual movement dowse. Here it occurred just before entry into the circle, and to a greater extent [without swirls] inside.|
The top part of the plan shows movements 1-6 outside the portals, and the lower section shows the movements 7-9 inside.
An overall plan and the plan of the final movements is also on Long Meg's site page.
Swirls often appear in pairs of clockwise and anticlockwise [or vice versa], and are sometimes 'enclosed' by a figure of eight movement. F/B means 'followed by'.
The long-stepped, or 'staggered' track across the circle has so far been unique to Long Meg and her Daughters, though I've found zig-zag moves elsewhere. Hamish remembers one at Froggymeade!
