(2008-12-22) | I walked up the Avenue on Wednesday, when it was sunny, and although it was only 3pm then, you still get an idea of what sunset would be like. (After that spent the last 3/4 of an hour in the circle area, standing on public pathway at SW to observe how my shadow was cast towards the 'spine' of Stone 16 at sunset. I wouldn't be surprised if an earlier post or stone stood somewhere in that area, and created the same effect in Stonehenge's sarsen-circle heyday.
