The view is towards the WestSouthWest. The path goes over Back Tor and Hollins Cross, left to Mam Tor, and then sweeps right along Rushup Edge.
This path is thought to have been truly prehistoric -- pre-dating even the Mam Tor fort. It continued past the Bull Ring stone circle and possibly even to the west coast as a trade route. (See 'Peakland Roads and Trackways' by Dodd and Dodd.) |
