The stele commemorates the building of a dam / irrigation system 23 Km to the east and the building of a small palace. Archaeologist Waldemar Belck visited the area in 1891, discovering the Rusa II stele on a mountain near Lake Keşiş or Keschisch Gol 23 Km to the east which was taken along with many other artefacts to the Pergamon Museum in Berlin. |
