This street came out of Babylon from the Ishtar gate, it was originally 16metres wide by 300metres long. On each side, the street was decorated with coloured brick relief's of the lion, the sacred animal of the goddess Ishtar.
The Lions in this photograph are in Istanbul Archaeological Museum, Turkey.
Further lions from the 'procession street' and parts of the Ishtar gate can be found in museums around the world.
