Admittedly a late spring image (6 May 2005) - this shows the second stage of spring where the ground-based plants have had their chance and the leaves spring from the branches of these beeches in the Beacon Hill NNR near Warnford. There is a tenuous prehistoric link - I was on my way back from having a look at a disc barrow on the side of Beacon Hill, overlooking the Meon Valley. |
