This is an important settlement of the Harrapan civilization (Hindus Vally) discovered in November 1954 and excavated by the ASI (Arch. Survey of India) dated to 2400 - to 1900 BCE. It is a well planned town and was a flourishing sea-port. Due to tectonic changes the sea retreated and that caused the settlement to decline. |
