It is not possible to take pictures in the interior in order to protect the livelihood of the postcard sellers not to mention managing the traffic of tourists. The interior 8 colossi of Ramses are 9 meters tall.
There are superlative scenes of the battle of Kadesh against the Hittites in the interior. Although the battle was a draw, Ramses' spin doctors made it into a great political victory. The ensuing peace treaty is the first historically recorded peace treaty and actually held for quite some time.
