Pharao Djoser's statue, founder of the 3rd Dynasty of the Old Kingdom, was found at the complex and is now in the Cairo Museum. During his reign he was refered to as Horus Netjerykhet and is thought to have been the first to conquer Nubia. His successor Sekhemkhet has a pyramid a couple of hundred meters South, but it is quite damaged yet has an Alabaster sarcophagus. |
