It served as his country retreat from the hectic life in Rome. It is the largest and most important villa left from Roman antiquity and is almost as large as Pompei.
Among the many buildings you'll find the Greek Theatre, Maritime Theatre, Canopus, Temple of Venus and many more.
Nearby is the town of Tivoli with the amazing botanical garden Villa D'Este and a Roman amphitheatre. |
