Description Tombe du Capitaine, Cantal, Auvergne.
The remains of the dolmen and its cairn can be seen in the middle of the field, near the tree, beyond the lovely cattle.

I know you people like to see the wildlife in and around these sites, so I thought I'd include this picture here.

Thought this was going to be my last dolmen for two reasons, which may have been suitable. Firstly it was the last place I was intending visiting before my journey back to England (but squeezed in a couple more on the way back).

Secondly it was in a field of these lovely inquisitive cows, which were a load of softies. After many months of searching out such sites, I had grown accustomed to walking through fields of cows to find places (and there is a signposted footpath through this field to the dolmen). However, once I had walked through them, and was about to make notes at the dolmen, I noticed there was a bull in there as well, and he had started taking a great interest in me. I wondered if he thought I was a rival to him with his ladies. I made a very quick exit over the fence at the far side, with very brief notes !

So - the tomb might have seen service after all?! Nasty!
