Description Remains of a rectangle shaped Long Barrow 24m x 7m with a chamber in the southern end.
The remains of the chamber look pretty much destroyed, treated massive with explosives. It was a chamber with five orthostats on each long side.
One part of a blasted capstone shows some cup marks. (That stone is in the lower left corner of this pict. The cup marks are eroded and hard to see)

It is hard to judge from a photo, but there also might be weathered cupmarks on the fragment corner right?

:-P Of course it is in the lower right corner. Must have been too tired.

;-) I also like to mix up "Left" and "right" sometimes. But now I am slightly disenchanted: I already thought I discovered some more cup marks.

One more note: Those marks are not mentioned in the Atlas. By coincidence I bought the 'Tempel der Ahnen' book last weekend, there I found a picture that showed this stone, with a note about the marks. Johannes Groth seems to be very lucky, or patient enough, or both, to get pictures with a perfect light. (Same as you I must admit)

Should be 'Johannes Groht', sorry.

It's a great book, isn't it? After Krautrock told me, that he bought one at the begin of this year I looked for it. Originally I thought it was out of print. But then I realized there are now several offers even for a reduced price. I was lucky to get one a few weeks ago. And thanks for your very kind compliment :-) I guess we all try to show the beauty of the sites and/or the construction details of the monuments.
