Largely destroyed by 1883, this was probably originally a bowl barrow, with a diameter of around 100 feet. Revealed and damaged by penetrative ploughing in 1945 and again ten years later, some structure was revealed - but now there is nothing to be seen, it seems.
Transcribing the grid ref places it in lower down on multimap, but putting it onto the GPS places it higher up on the crest of the hill. If this was a barrow a ridge-top situation would make more sense. This is taken at the crest of the hill where the GPS indicated, looking towards the Kerry Ridgeway. |
