John & Lynne K stand atop cairns to the west of the circle. These can be very hard to find much of the year, but the meadow had just been trimmed. One of my favourite circles. |

(2006-04-08) | I also like the Hoarstones Circle, but I worry a bit that it is getting so overgrown. I like to see a stone circle in a natural setting, but I do wonder if a few grazing sheep or a careful strim of the circle would bring out the site a bit more in its landscape. On my last visit I noticed how there were even a couple of hardy gorse bushes taking hold within the circle. Seems a pity for such a fantastic circle to be so hidden away. |
