The chambered long barrow ismeasuring 20m x 7m orientated North-South. The earthwork is largely eroded. As a result most of the 30 (only approximately 5 missing!) remaining kerbstones are fallen to barrow's outside and are partly covered.
The chamber is situated 2m north of barrow's centre. It most probably either was a simple (Urdolmen) or extended dolmen. One orthostat in the South and one in the East are still in situ, a capstone is collapsed into the chamber, other nearby stones are probably moved orthostats. Only an excavation could clarify the original structure. The chamber-capstone is of great interest. It is littered with cupmarks of various size. One of the most remarkable cup-marked capstones in Germany.
All in all a fascinating site, unfortunately constantly overgrown. Even the professional archeologists Krüger, Sprockhoff and Körner were faced with this problem during there examinations in the 20th century.
As more than 90% of the stones are preserved, a restoration of this site would be comparatively easy.
