What once was the second largest chambered tomb of the Necropolis at Westerholte suffered severe damages in the first half of the 19th century when it was abused as a quarry. According to the detailed sketch of Wächter [1] the NE-SW oriented chamber originally had 16 capstones and a length of appr. 26m. When J.H. Müller [2] visited the site in 1864 only 4 orthostats in situ, a fragment of an orthostat and 4 partly damaged capstones were left of this magnificent site. Nowadays it still looks the same as in 1864. The 30m long barrow still is significant [3]. The two pairs of orthostats in situ possibly were NW5, NW6, SE5 and SE6. Fallen between them the partly damaged capstones C5? and C6?. Further to the NE two fallen capstones C9? And C13?. A partly overgrown fragment? of an orthostat in the SW, possibly of SE2.
