Showing the western 20m of the long barrow enclosure and the massive 8m x 4,5m chamber. The central capstone is damaged by blasting attempts and split in halves. A second line of tool marks is clearly visible. The earthwork is largely removed/eroded. Unfortunately all stones of the entrance section are robbed (the gap in the row of kerbstones just West of the central capstone). March 2010 |

By the way, this morning i received a copy of "Die Großsteingräber des Elb-Weser-Winkels" . Very nice pictures of Wanna, Bülzenbett and all those tombs of the area. What a tiny nice book. May be you got it already, if not, try to get one! | Martin L (2010-04-20) | Thank you very much Holger :) Yes, I have a copy of this picture-book. I really like several of the b/w shots. But the quality varies. Some of the photos are also included in Sprockhoffs' Atlas. By the way: many thanks for the Anderlingen site. I was not aware of this interesting recent reconstruction. |
